The
designed daily capacity of water supply for the state of Sabah is
631,23 cu.m per day. A total of 26 towns or an estimate of a population
of 1,484,038 million are being served. The designed daily capacity
for major towns is as follow:
Water Rates
For domestic household and commercial industrial
use, the rate is RM0.90cu.m with a minimum charge of RM12 per every
three months. The only exceptions are for schools which are charged
only RM0.45cu.m with a minimum charge of RM12 per every three months,
also for shipping, charged RM2.70cu.m with no minimum charges and
warship houses are provided with water that is free of charge.

| The
water deposit required by the Water Department varies according to
the type of premises. For homes or offices, it is RM100 per unit,
while for hotels, it is based on the average of monthly water consumption.
For temporary water connection to buildings under construction, the
deposit ranges from RM500 to RM3,000 depending on the price of the
building itself. |
