Mission
This Ministry functions to establish integrated development
programme in the rural areas, to improve the standard and quality
of services of the district administrative, and of leadership of the
Ministry's personnel. Its mission is to make certain that the rural
development programs are planned and implemented efficiently and effectively.

1. Planning and implementing socio-economic research
programmes for rural communities.
2. Planning and implementing training programmes for staff and
communities.
3. Structuring and organizing district administration.
4. Planning and implementing human and community development.
5. Planning and implementing socioeconomic programmes.
6. Structuring and improving the quality of financial and administration
services.
The District Offices in Sabah
1. Planning and implementing rural area development projects.
2. Supervising all development projects including those handled
by other agencies in the districts.
3. As an agent of change in aspects of physical and mental development.
4. Handling public matters.

Vision
The Ministry of Rural
Development, Sabah was established on 17th November 1995 with
the combination of functions of Community Development Centre,
the District Administration and the Unit of the People's Development
Leader.
The Ministry operates through nine sections/ sectors,
1. The District Administration Section
2. The Management & Finance Section
3. The Planning, Research and Training Section
4. Poverty Eradication Section
5. The Public Utility Sector (Sandakan)
6. The Project Coordination Sector (West-South Coast)
7. The Rural Economy Development Sector (Tawau)
8. Corporate and Private Sector Involvement Sector (Interior)
9. The Rural Modernization Sector (Northwest Coast)
