Brief

Launching Photo K.K.I.P. Sdn. Bhd. is a wholly owned company of the State Government of Sabah, through the Chief Minister Incorporation and placed under the direct purview of the State Ministry of Industrial Development. The company is responsible to develop and manage the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP), which is based on a fully integrated and self-contained development concept. KKIP is located 25 km north of the central business district of Kota Kinabalu, 35km north of the Kota Kinabalu International Airport and only 5km away from the deep-sea container port of Sapangar Bay.

The KKIP project was initally conceived by Sabah Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO) in early 1990, and K.K.I.P Sdn. Bhd was incorporated as a subsidiary company of owned by SEDCO on February 1994. K.K.I.P Sdn. Bhd. was transferred to the Chief Minister's Inc. (as a wholly-owned company of the State Government of Sabah), and placed under the direct purview of the Ministry of Industrial Development, effective 1, 1977.

KKIP was officially launched by the Prime Minister of Malaysia on November 2, 1995 and since then about 1,578.54 acres had been developed for industrial, training and research, and resettlement scheme areas.

The Project Concept

The KKIP project is being developed in a comprehensive scheme;

Commercial / trading activities, industrial / manufacturing activities, residential areas, training and research institution areas, corporate and public administration centres, recreation and tourism areas, and other public amenities and services to cater for a conducive environment where the residents and visitors can work, resta and recreate harmoniously, and;
