Nature Park
The area proposed as a nature park is substantial, covering
approximately 1,101 ha of land or 30% of the total land area of KKIP. The
nature park is located along the southern coast of Mengkabong Bay and Salut
Bay. This hilly area is difficult and expensive to develop and thus shall be
retained as a nature conservation zone for some specific tourism activities,
such as the Zoological Society Reserve and Endangered Species Conservation
Center. Besides providing a high quality environment within the site, both
the vehicular and pedestrian movement here will be carefully considered.
Pedestrian linkages are to be provided to link the tourism areas with the
recreational park. Functionally, the Nature Park not only provides the necessary
"green lungs" for KKIP's residents, but also serve as an ecological
showcase of the natural environment and demonstrate our commitment to the
preservation of the environment.
