In the residential areas, pockets of green lungs or "padangs" are to be created to soften the environment. In the industrial areas, private green strips around the front and the sides of the factory plots will be set aside to project a garden city image. This private green space will be further integrated into the public green along the Telipok River and the detention ponds. The banks of Telipok River will provide a major design opportunity to develop a landscaped greeen promenade, including pedestrian jogging tracks and cycle tracks. In the Town Center, the open space will be in the form of an urban linear park that opens out as a water-edge promenade along the Southern end of the Town Center. Landscaped parks, comprising of sitting areas, terraces, gardens and playgrounds, will be the key attractions of this water-edge promenade.
