Residential Area

KKIP Residential Areas The proposed residential development covers an area of 621 ha. or 16.9% of the site and provides about 17,000 dwelling units of various sizes to accomodate a population of about 87,000. Housing within KKIP is primarily for workers and the executives working in KKIP. Twenty-six villages are planned and grouped into seven districts (i.e. Western District, Salut District, Mengkabong District, Northern District, Central District, Southern District and Kuala Menggatal District). The size of each village varies from around 5 to 30 ha. Each village will be able to accomodate an anticipated residential population between 900 and 5,000.

There will be a variety of housing types proposed within each residential village, ranging from high class landed properties to low cost housing. Each village will be conveniently served by a variety of social, retail, service, educational and recreational facilities, all within walking distance.
