Town Centre & Commercial Area
The design concept for KKIP is to have a central spine of
activity with three commercial nodes to act as the focus of the development.
The main activity corridor will run accross the development from east to west
along primary road leading to KKIP with the Town Center in the middle of the
site. The total commercial land within KKIP is approximately about 109 ha which
includes the Town Center, the Business Center at the entrance of KKIP, and
the Tourist Sub-Center to the west, near the water's edge.
The Town Center is designed in a grid pattern which will provide the civic focus, the administrative and residential hub of the New Town. The Town Center is well-positioned and easily accessible from the residential villages and the industrial areas. The Business Center, located at the entrance of KKIP, will have the desired exposure and frontage. It will serve as the office hub of KKIP, catering to the needs of the industrial and warehousing sectors, comprising of offices, industry-related corporate headquarters, showrooms, etc. It is estimated that the 0.5 million sq. m of commercial space will be able to generate an additional 40,000 jobs. |
